You're welcome to visit and tour my home and grounds if you review and agree to all the safety, legal liability disclaimers, and visitor's information on this page, you strictly respect the privacy of my neighbors (insure you don't trespass nor disturb them in any way), you don't intentionally litter or damage anything, and you've never committed any crime on my property.  (Those who litter, vandalize, or revisit after any criminal offense will be vigorously prosecuted.)  Directions to my home are provided here.


Special Danger Notice:  Numerous Douglas Fir trees in my forest, possibly including one or more in the commonly visited area south of my right wing tip, are dead and broken but snagged in leaning or mostly upright positions.  These trees are extremely dangerous!  They're held upright only by frail dead limbs which can break free spontaneously at any time, so any of them could suddenly fall at any moment with no warning.  Any person struck by a falling tree would almost certainly be killed.  So if you explore within or near the border of my forest carefully scan the area from a safe distance, note all leaning or unhealthy trees, then be certain to avoid any area they might fall within.

(As of 4 February 2021 I've hand winched many of these trees to the ground, eliminating their danger, but many, especially in more obscure areas, remain upright and thus extremely dangerous.  My forest is thinning rapidly as the strongest trees dominate the competition for sunlight, and my felling work is challenging, hazardous, and very time consuming, so some areas will remain very dangerous for at least several weeks or several months, or possibly for years.)


You must thoroughly respect SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and strict neighbor privacy restrictions as follows:

Outdoor self guided tours are welcome at any daylight time on any date since they present no significant virus transfer risk while I'm inside my aircraft, and you don't need to schedule them - you may simply visit my property during daylight periods unannounced.  However if I'm working outside please wear a face mask and when practical try to maintain a two meter separation distance between us.

However you must exercise strict full respect for the privacy of all my neighbors at all times.  Don't disturb them for any reason, and don't encroach upon their property at any time, including any portion of their driveways.  Be certain to drive only upon my dirt (or mud) driveway at 15270 SW Holly Hill Road.  All other driveways belong to unrelated neighbors and you must not drive nor walk upon them.

Also do not view nor capture any media of any of my neighbor's property from anywhere on or above my property.  Be totally respectful of their privacy.

If you like and I'm awake at the time I'd be happy to chat with you from my right wing hatch while I'm inside, but please wear a face mask and when practical maintain a minimum two meter separation distance from my hatch when it's open.  If you don't have a face mask ask me to provide a new one or maintain a greater separation distance and position yourself downwind from my hatch.  If you're able to maintain right wing safety requirements knock very firmly on my cabin windows at the root of my right wing to get my attention for chats, or my aft door at the top of my air stairs.

I can't provide indoor tours or lodging until the SARS-CoV-2 threat has been resolved unless you've received a complete vaccine regime or reliably tested negative within 48 hours with no hazardous contacts since.  (Scheduled free outdoor camping remains available however.)  Please see details below for scheduling indoor tours or lodging later.

(My aircraft is a sealed pressure canister so pathogens can remain a threat for days after being shed.  Sadly even if well masked a SARS-CoV-2 carrier seems likely to deposit a lingering virus threat to the interior of my home.  And since I'm 71 I mustn't risk exposure until after I've received an effective vaccine.)

I'll consider special circumstances so please advise if you have one.  But I'll emphasize personal safety since this virus could kill me.

Right wing safety and care:  You may step onto my right wing at its outboard tip, where a stack of white tiles forms crude stairs for ascending to it, then walk upon its top surface if you do so safely and responsibly, and agree to do so entirely at you own personal risk.  Any portion of my wing might be extremely slippery even when other areas are tractive, and a fall to the hard metal wing surface could cause serious injury or death (due to cranium damage).  So be diligently traction vigilant at all times.

Don't step upon the inboard aileron since it's not rigged at all at this time and thus would suddenly rotate down, sending you instantly to the ground in a dangerous fall through sharp edged metal structures.  Don't step upon the outboard aileron since it's not strong enough to withstand foot traffic and is only weakly rigged at this time and thus might suddenly rotate.  Don't step upon the transparent wing tip position light cover nor its top metal cover plate since they're not strong enough to withstand foot traffic and thus might be damaged or cause a fall injury.  You may walk upon any other wing surface so long as you can do so safely.  Expect wing flexibility - that's normal.


Safety Information and Legal Liability Disclaimers:

All guests must agree to visit entirely at their own risk and expense.  This is an unconventional construction site with significant and unusual safety hazards.  So all visitors must read, understand, and fully agree to all relevant safety and legal disclaimer information.

My grounds are genuinely dangerous, so please study the risks carefully and exercise immense care while here.  Be aware that your visit must be entirely at your own risk - I disclaim any and all liability for any losses, including from hazards which lie well outside even industrial or construction area safety codes or practices.  Hazards include heavy support structures which are precarious so remain well clear of any structure which could possibly shift or fall.  And many surfaces, including the turf, though they may look tractive, are often slippery or extremely slippery.  I have decades of experience here and am very cautious but nonetheless have suffered significant injuries.  My grounds are unusual and unusually dangerous.  And sometimes with powerful stealth, particularly during moist conditions.

Wooden support structures could become unstable without warning so maintain a safe distance from them.  Don't apply any force to any part of them because falling wood beams, which are very heavy, could kill.

The hard metal stairs leading to the interior of my aircraft are a bit steep and can be somewhat slippery at times.  All stairs can be dangerous - falls on stairs can cause serious injury or death.

If I remove a section of an interior floor panel to provide guest access to lower decks all guests must remain thoroughly mindful of the opening to avoid a nasty fall through harsh metal structures.

My grounds and aircraft are often slippery in many areas, and there are numerous hard metal objects on my site, some with sharp edges.  A slip which results in a fall to a sharp or hard metal object could cause serious injury or death.  The wings have no safety railings.  If you elect to walk on the right wing avoid the edges, significantly slanted areas, and the movable inboard aileron (which is not rigged so would abruptly rotate down) to avoid a fall.  The left wing is very high from the ground, has at least one completely loose surface panel, neither aileron is secure, and the wing tip structure isn't secure.  The left wing is thus too dangerous to explore.

You are solely responsible for exercising careful judgment in choosing whether to attempt to negotiate my stairs, interior areas, wings, top of fuselage, or to expose yourself to any other hazards in and around my aircraft and grounds.  You must recognize that there are hazards here which are not typical of normal domestic environments, including many rural environments.  You must be aware of the hazards described here, and any which may be described orally, and you must accept personal responsibility and liability for any accidents which may occur on my property before electing to visit my aircraft or property in general, or participate in any activities on my property.  Please don't visit my property, board my aircraft, or participate in support activities if you are not physically fit and mentally focused enough to do so safely.

Don't visit unless you agree to do so entirely at your own sole risk - please don't sue me if an accident occurs, even if due to a hazard I could have reduced or eliminated, or one which isn't allowed at most sites even during construction.  Wear practical and protective clothing, be intensely alert and cautious, and expect unusual hazards.  Safety first please.  And all visitation risk is solely yours - you must understand and accept that clearly.

Smoking is never allowed anywhere on my property.  Hunting in any form is extremely offensive to me personally and is never allowed anywhere on my property.


Be Very Careful to Avoid These Current Special Hazard Areas:


1.  The concrete related material being fabricated under the forward landing gear and the temporary forward support structure.  The support and fabrication material are all temporary in nature and hazardous.  (Also material could easily be damaged so please don't disturb work in progress nor walk in the work area.)

2.  My aircraft's main landing gear and forward fuselage are still supported by temporary structures.  Be especially careful around the left main gear, nose gear, and forward fuselage support structures - they're of limited stability and incorporate very heavy components which might dislodge and fall.

3.  The freight van currently aft of my aircraft might be moved to an out of sight location on the west border of my property.  It's currently supported by chaotically located logs and is immensely heavy, and thus isn't thoroughly safe.  So please remain at least two meters distant from it at all times.


General Visitor's Information:

Whenever I'm in Oregon you're welcome to schedule an interior tour of my aircraft during which you may capture personal media.  Please contact me via email to arrange a date and time.  (About 13:00 or later in the afternoon is often best for me.)  And please remind me one day prior to your visit date.

Or you may visit my grounds unannounced to tour my project, capture outdoor media, or fly a drone during any daylight time - you're not obliged to advise me of outdoor only visits.  But if I'm not familiar with you please depart my grounds within about an hour after dusk since strangers who linger into late hours sometimes make me uncomfortable.  Also respect drone flight restrictions strictly.  I often welcome unscheduled guests inside but only scheduled guests are assured interior access.

Visitors arrive frequently so I often share time among multiple guest groups.  Or media production work which generally demands almost all of my attention might occur during your visit.

Due to global connections I sleep at odd times and nap often.  If I appear to be asleep but you need help, wish to chat with me, or scheduled an interior tour, please wake me vigorously with firm knocks on my aft door at the top of my air stairs or on a cabin window at the root of my right wing until you rouse me.  Please do wake me boldly sans any regrets.

Please review my lodging guide if you have an interest in an overnight visit.  Optionally you may schedule overnight camping on my grounds in any suitable area (including during the SARS-CoV-2 era).  Potable water and responsibly utilized electricity are free for campers and all other guests.

I'm genuinely happy to provide full, cheerful, and flexible access but numerous guests visit my home and grounds essentially daily and usually sans an appointment so it's impractical to try to segregate my private life from my aircraft's public role.  So visits are intimate - please allow me to live my usual highly informal and chaotically sequenced life as we share my home.  In recent times my cabin's a bit untidy and I'm often engaged in fabrication, investing, v2.0 project, or communication work which I often multitask with guests.

Also please accept that incidental nudity occasionally occurs.  My home's sleeping and shower areas are fully open (not walled) within my cabin, I don't shade my cabin windows, I wear no clothing when indoors unless required for task related protection or warmth*, and I sleep and shower as the day's logistics dictate rather than on a predictable schedule.  I don clothes when guests seek a conversation, help, or an indoor tour unless preparing for, in, or completing a shower, and I try to be especially careful when kids visit.  However guests visit very frequently at any time of day (and some regular guests at night) and usually spontaneously, sometimes I'm not aware guests are present, and ordinary movements occasionally lead to unexpected encounters - a lot of activity occurs here and real life is chaotic.  So please be pragmatic - I want guests to feel completely comfortable but frankly I don't view this matter as important enough to render my home less accessible, transparent, and convenient to visit.  So exercise a little caution if kids are with you or you're uncomfortable with nudity.  Otherwise please recognize that life in a highly transparent home is far more practical if none of us are neurotic about nudity - if it occurs please just disregard it and enjoy your visit as usual.

Please treat my travel information as completely confidential since destructive vandals and thieves leverage such information.

(* Often I need a wrench - often one is mandatory to complete a task.  However I don't carry a wrench at all times.  When alone or indoors (and sometimes briefly outdoors) I view clothing identically - often clothing is beneficial or mandatory for protection or warmth.  But I don't need clothing at all times.  Wrenches and clothing are tools and I prefer to manage both from a purely practical perspective.  And frankly I doubt my last words will be "I wish I'd spent more time washing and folding laundry...")


Weather, Warmth, and Private Driveway Notes:

My aircraft is nestled in a highly shaded forest environment and is often much colder than visitors expect, but can also be hot during sunny periods - it might be as cold inside my aircraft as outside, or quite hot.  So I recommend layered clothing to provide extra warmth but with the option of removing layers so you can adjust to your ideal comfort level.

Important Notes:  Only one driveway, the dirt or mud road at 15270 SW Holly Hill Road, provides access to my project.  Do not encroach on any other driveway - all others are unrelated and strictly private so you must not trespass upon them nor disturb any of my neighbors in any way.

Do not park on nor adjacent to Holly Hill Road - street or adjacent parking is prohibited.  Ascend my driveway in your vehicle then park near its upper end.

Don't spin your tires, even just a little bit, on my dirt road since I must repair the damage by arduous hand shoveling, and since serious erosion damage can result.  My road is initially narrow and steep so you might need a little momentum to crest the first portion.  A practice entry might be necessary to acquire sufficient experience to negotiate it sans tire spinning.

In heavy moisture or snow conditions my driveway might be impassible for many vehicles.  If so please ascend it as far as is feasible, insuring that your vehicle is well clear of Holly Hill Road, then turn your steering wheel fully clockwise, then key lock it, insure all park and brake systems are reliably engaged, insure your vehicle can't slide downhill (with tire blocks if warranted), then walk up my road.  If you're unable due to obstruction by another vehicle you may call or email me to request that I try to swiftly coordinate with the owner of the vehicle to arrange access for your vehicle.  If you're unable due to slickness apologies but your only option is to visit at another time or day or locate public parking (at least 2 km distant) then walk or bike very cautiously to my driveway.


Important Details:

All ages are welcome so long as safety can be maintained and the shoe related sterile procedure can be managed properly.  (But I have no used diaper provisions so please manage their disposal yourself.)  Pets are welcome too but must remain outside - they're not allowed to board my aircraft.

Wear sport shoes or similar with soles which grip surfaces very well.  Heels, even of modest height, or hard sole shoes are completely incompatible and a serious safety risk so don't wear them.  Practical and protective minimal value casual clothing is best for my rural environment.  Otherwise any clothing style is perfectly fine.

Shoes are never allowed on my air stairs nor inside my aircraft.  But don't soil your socks and then ascend my air stairs.  First remove your shoes as you step onto my air stairs so that your shoes don't touch my air stairs but your socks touch only my air stairs and nothing else.  It's a sterile procedure:  Manage your shoe removal so that nothing which ever touched a dirty surface touches my air stairs.  Clean slippers will be provided as you enter my cabin as well.

If I unlock a wing exit for entry remove your shoes on the wing and leave them there, but don't step on the wing with your socks - please slip out of your shoes as you step through the exit hatch.

You may capture any images or video subject to my publication terms.

Please don't park in the turnaround alcove at the top of my dirt roadway since it must remain clear so cars can turn around.  Please park adjacent to my old light blue Acura or adjacent to the trees on the north side of my roadway (the right side as you drive up) if you can leave enough clearance for other cars to pass.

Don't expect too much - this is still a work in progress which is far from complete.  My cabin and many facilities are obviously unfinished, but clean.  Working lavatories and a crude shower are available.

All visitors must agree to do so entirely at their own risk and expense.  Read and agree in full to the Safety Information and Legal Liability Disclaimers section above prior to your visit.

Major theft and vandalism events are serious ongoing problems so please be mindful of security when posting information about my project - please don't reveal information which would unreasonably compromise the safety and security of my property.

Contributions:  Please don't offer compensation for my time nor a monetary contribution for my project - I don't want anyone to feel the slightest obligation to do so and the only way to insure that is to ask everyone to refrain from doing so.  Modest material tokens of friendship are welcome but not the slightest scintilla of any obligation to provide a gift exists - usually none are offered and I'm completely comfortable with that, truly.  Your interest is more than sufficient reward for my time.  (But contributions to offset direct expenses are appreciated but not obliged for some Concert on a Wing events.)

Nor is anyone the least bit obliged to contribute labor to my project.  But if you'd like to pitch in with cleaning or construction tasks for the simple joy of the experience please review this information - if time's available and logistics seem suitable I'd be grateful for your assistance.  But all the legal disclaimers described on this page and elsewhere remain in force.  Please maintain safety as first priority.  And beware - I'm terribly picky about damage avoidance and construction quality even with charity labor.
